In brief
MT In is an Aframax crude oil tanker. Formerly known as Mastera for almost two decades and briefly as Mikines in early 2022, as Alma until September 2023, as Petali until February 2025, and as Wind until June 2026, she and her sister ship Tempera were the first ships to utilize the double acting tanker (DAT) concept in which the vessel is designed to travel ahead in open water and astern in severe ice conditions. The icebreaking tanker was built to transport crude oil year-round from the Russian oil terminal in Primorsk to Neste Oil refineries in Porvoo and Naantali.

In context
Every figure in this section is a count, a rank or a percentile over vessels actually held in this registry — not over the world fleet, which is larger. Nothing here is estimated.
At 64,259 gross tons, MT Mastera is the 7,169th largest of the 84,014 vessels in this registry that report a tonnage. The median across that set is 5,994 GT, so this hull is about 11 times the typical vessel on record here. The largest measures 499,167 GT.
Among the 3,060 oil tankers held here, it ranks 606th by tonnage — larger than 80% of that group. Their median tonnage is 22,184 GT, and the largest tenth begin at 149,274 GT. The flag most often flown by this group is Panama (301 ships). The yard that appears most often against it is HD Hyundai Mipo, with 190 hulls on record.
Finland is the country of registry for 249 vessels in this directory, of which MT Mastera is the 4th largest by tonnage. The most common class under that flag is vessels this registry holds no type classification for (110 ships), and the median vessel measures 2,673 GT. Browse every ship flagged Finland.
MT Mastera was built in 2003, making it 23 years old. It is one of 1,383 hulls in this registry delivered that year, a cohort whose median tonnage is 11,954 GT; within it this ship is the 155th largest. Across the whole of the 2000s the registry holds 18,605 vessels, median 9,957 GT. The median build year across the entire registry is 1995.
The registry attributes 161 vessels to Sumitomo Heavy Industries, with a median tonnage of 51,956 GT, delivered between 1959 and 2022. See the rest of that yard’s output.
At 252.0 m overall, MT Mastera is 73.0 m longer than the 179.0 m median for oil tankers on record, with a beam of 44.0 m and a draft of 15.3 m.
IMO numbers are issued in broadly chronological blocks. Within 500 either side of 9235892 this registry holds 81 other vessels, whose median build year is 2002 and which range from 2000 to 2004. That places this hull’s registration in the same part of the series, consistent with its recorded build year of 2003.
Its IMO number, 9235892, carries its own check digit. The first six digits are weighted seven down to two and summed — 9×7 + 2×6 + 3×5 + 5×4 + 8×3 + 9×2 = 152 — and the last digit of that total, 2, must equal the seventh digit, 2. It does, so this number is well formed.
