In brief
HMCS Anticosti was an Anticosti-class minesweeper that served in the Canadian Forces from 1989 to 2000. Originally an oil rig support vessel, she was purchased in 1989 and saw service until the entry of the newer Kingston-class coastal defence vessels. The ship was named for Anticosti Island, the second to bear the name. Following her Canadian naval career, Anticosti was sold to commercial interests.

In context
Every figure in this section is a count, a rank or a percentile over vessels actually held in this registry — not over the world fleet, which is larger. Nothing here is estimated.
At 1,156 gross tons, HMCS Anticosti is the 64,508th largest of the 84,014 vessels in this registry that report a tonnage. The median across that set is 5,994 GT, so this hull is about 5.2 times smaller than the typical vessel on record here. The largest measures 499,167 GT.
Among the 611 naval / patrols held here, it ranks 144th by tonnage — larger than 46% of that group. Their median tonnage is 1,325 GT, and the largest tenth begin at 23,606 GT. The flag most often flown by this group is United States (136 ships). The yard that appears most often against it is Austal, with 33 hulls on record.
Panama is the country of registry for 9,598 vessels in this directory, of which HMCS Anticosti is the 8,724th largest by tonnage. The most common class under that flag is vessels this registry holds no type classification for (5,698 ships), and the median vessel measures 18,203 GT. Browse every ship flagged Panama.
Narrowing to both dimensions at once, this registry holds 4 naval / patrols flying the Panama flag, of which none is larger than HMCS Anticosti.
HMCS Anticosti was built in 1973, making it 53 years old. It is one of 2,097 hulls in this registry delivered that year, a cohort whose median tonnage is 1,435 GT; within it this ship is the 988th largest. Across the whole of the 1970s the registry holds 17,331 vessels, median 2,774 GT. The median build year across the entire registry is 1995.
The registry attributes 21 vessels to Allied Shipbuilders, with a median tonnage of 799 GT, delivered between 1958 and 1997. See the rest of that yard’s output.
At 60.0 m overall, HMCS Anticosti is 26.5 m shorter than the 86.5 m median for naval / patrols on record, with a beam of 13.1 m and a draft of 5.2 m.
IMO numbers are issued in broadly chronological blocks. Within 500 either side of 7314723 this registry holds 60 other vessels, whose median build year is 1973 and which range from 1973 to 1974. That places this hull’s registration in the same part of the series, consistent with its recorded build year of 1973.
Its IMO number, 7314723, carries its own check digit. The first six digits are weighted seven down to two and summed — 7×7 + 3×6 + 1×5 + 4×4 + 7×3 + 2×2 = 113 — and the last digit of that total, 3, must equal the seventh digit, 3. It does, so this number is well formed.
