In context
Every figure in this section is a count, a rank or a percentile over vessels actually held in this registry — not over the world fleet, which is larger. Nothing here is estimated.
At 26,302 gross tons, Florencia is the 22,120th largest of the 84,014 vessels in this registry that report a tonnage. The median across that set is 5,994 GT, so this hull is about 4.4 times the typical vessel on record here. The largest measures 499,167 GT.
Among the 877 ro-ros held here, it ranks 128th by tonnage — larger than 84% of that group. Their median tonnage is 7,395 GT, and the largest tenth begin at 34,011 GT. The flag most often flown by this group is Italy (62 ships). The yard that appears most often against it is Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft, with 16 hulls on record.
Italy is the country of registry for 918 vessels in this directory, of which Florencia is the 228th largest by tonnage. The most common class under that flag is vessels this registry holds no type classification for (488 ships), and the median vessel measures 4,975 GT. Browse every ship flagged Italy.
Narrowing to both dimensions at once, this registry holds 62 ro-ros flying the Italy flag, of which 31 are larger by tonnage.
Florencia was built in 2004, making it 22 years old. It is one of 1,485 hulls in this registry delivered that year, a cohort whose median tonnage is 17,188 GT; within it this ship is the 576th largest. Across the whole of the 2000s the registry holds 18,605 vessels, median 9,957 GT. The median build year across the entire registry is 1995.
The registry attributes 13 vessels to Cantiere Navale Visentini, with a median tonnage of 26,904 GT, delivered between 2001 and 2020. See the rest of that yard’s output.
At 186.0 m overall, Florencia is 61.0 m longer than the 125.0 m median for ro-ros on record, with a beam of 25.6 m and a draft of 6.5 m.
IMO numbers are issued in broadly chronological blocks. Within 500 either side of 9287584 this registry holds 60 other vessels, whose median build year is 2004 and which range from 2002 to 2006. That places this hull’s registration in the same part of the series, consistent with its recorded build year of 2004.
Its IMO number, 9287584, carries its own check digit. The first six digits are weighted seven down to two and summed — 9×7 + 2×6 + 8×5 + 7×4 + 5×3 + 8×2 = 174 — and the last digit of that total, 4, must equal the seventh digit, 4. It does, so this number is well formed.
