In context
Every figure in this section is a count, a rank or a percentile over vessels actually held in this registry — not over the world fleet, which is larger. Nothing here is estimated.
At 54,900 gross tons, Aura Seaways is the 8,955th largest of the 84,014 vessels in this registry that report a tonnage. The median across that set is 5,994 GT, so this hull is about 9.2 times the typical vessel on record here. The largest measures 499,167 GT.
Among the 877 ro-ros held here, it ranks 28th by tonnage — larger than 97% of that group. Their median tonnage is 7,395 GT, and the largest tenth begin at 34,011 GT. The flag most often flown by this group is Italy (62 ships). The yard that appears most often against it is Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft, with 16 hulls on record.
Denmark is the country of registry for 849 vessels in this directory, of which Aura Seaways is the 96th largest by tonnage. The most common class under that flag is vessels this registry holds no type classification for (495 ships), and the median vessel measures 4,678 GT. Browse every ship flagged Denmark.
Narrowing to both dimensions at once, this registry holds 19 ro-ros flying the Denmark flag, of which none is larger than Aura Seaways.
Aura Seaways was built in 2021, making it 5 years old. It is one of 251 hulls in this registry delivered that year, a cohort whose median tonnage is 15,776 GT; within it this ship is the 32nd largest. Across the whole of the 2020s the registry holds 1,769 vessels, median 29,777 GT. The median build year across the entire registry is 1995.
The registry attributes 305 vessels to CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering Company, with a median tonnage of 28,891 GT, delivered between 1974 and 2026. See the rest of that yard’s output.
At 230.0 m overall, Aura Seaways is 105.0 m longer than the 125.0 m median for ro-ros on record, with a beam of 32.0 m and a draft of 7.0 m.
IMO numbers are issued in broadly chronological blocks. Within 500 either side of 9851036 this registry holds 45 other vessels, whose median build year is 2019 and which range from 2018 to 2024. That places this hull’s registration in the same part of the series, consistent with its recorded build year of 2021.
Its IMO number, 9851036, carries its own check digit. The first six digits are weighted seven down to two and summed — 9×7 + 8×6 + 5×5 + 1×4 + 0×3 + 3×2 = 146 — and the last digit of that total, 6, must equal the seventh digit, 6. It does, so this number is well formed.
