In brief
CaixaBank, S.A. (Catalan pronunciation: [ˌkaʃəˈbaŋ]), formerly Criteria CaixaCorp, is a Spanish multinational financial services company. CaixaBank is based in Valencia, with operations offices in Barcelona and Madrid. It is Spain's third-largest lender by market value, after Banco Santander and BBVA. CaixaBank has 5,397 branches to serve its 15.8 million customers, and has the most extensive branch network in the Spanish market. It is listed in the Bolsa de Madrid and is part of the IBEX 35.
The company consists of the universal banking and insurance activities of the La Caixa group, as well as its holdings in the telecommunications company Telefónica and in several other financial institutions.
CaixaBank has been designated as a 'Significant Institution' since European Banking Supervision entered into force in late 2014 and, as a consequence, is directly supervised by the European Central Bank.

In context
Counts over companies and vessels actually held in this directory — not over the world fleet, which is larger. Nothing here is estimated.
With 1 vessels attributed to it here, CaixaBank is the 492nd largest of the 965 operators in this directory that hold at least one ship on record, against a median of 2 across that group. That is a count of individually identified hulls, not the company’s published fleet size — the two are different measurements and both are shown above where available.
Spain is the country of registration for 18 commercial operators in this directory, among which CaixaBank ranks 10th by ships on record. Between them those companies hold 47 vessels here. See every operator registered in Spain.
Founded in 2011, CaixaBank is 15 years old. This directory holds 97 operators founded within five years either side of that date, whose median fleet on record is 1 ships. The median founding year across all commercial operators here is 1966, and the oldest on record dates to 1514.
